As a home cook, it's hard to keep track of recipes and share creations.

My friends and I love sharing what we make, but the current ways of sharing through group chats and my camera roll are scattered and hard to organize. When I want to revisit a recipe or remember something I made, I often have to scroll endlessly or dig through old messages. This creates a frustrating experience and makes it difficult to track my cooking journey or see what others have created.

The Challenge

How can I build a community to give home cooks a space to share their recipes and connect through food?

Final Product

Share the Joy of Home Cooking

This product gives home cooks a simple way to share their creations and recipes with the people they love. Discover dishes your friends have made, try new recipes, and keep track of everything you’ve cooked along the way.

See What Your Friends Are Cooking

With a fun, social-media-style feed, users can easily browse through their friends’ latest recipes and creations. They can bookmark dishes to save for later and revisit whenever they’re ready to cook. Each recipe also includes helpful tags that highlight potential allergens and make it easy to filter recipes when looking for something specific.

Your Personal Recipe Hub

All your own recipes, and the dishes shared by your friends, are stored together in one place. No more searching through social media or your notes app to find the recipe you need. Easily browse your collection and quickly figure out what to make for dinner.

Effortless Recipe Sharing

With a familiar interface inspired by the social media apps we all know and love, users can easily add and share new recipes.

AI That Builds Your Recipe

To simplify one of the most tedious parts of adding a recipe, we introduced an AI-powered feature that automatically generates ingredients and instructions. Users simply upload a photo and the name of the dish, and the AI scans the image, finds similar recipes online, and drafts a recipe to get them started—making the process faster and easier.

Key Takeaways and Future Plans

The idea for this project came from my own love of cooking and sharing recipes with friends. We often found ourselves swapping recipes and photos across multiple apps, which became messy and disorganized. I wanted to create a single platform that brings it all together, making it easy to share, track, and discover new recipes. With recipe-tracking apps becoming increasingly popular, this felt like the perfect addition to that trend.
